AIR NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED
THIS POSITION IS A TITLE 32 FEDERAL EXCEPTED TECHNICIAN POSITION. YOU MUST BE OR BECOME A MILITARY MEMBER IN THE NEW HAMPSHIRE AIR NATIONAL GUARD.
Current technicians selected will retain the appointment status they are currently in. (i.e., Permanent or Indefinite). Individuals from Area II or Area III will be appointed Indefinite status. Conversion to permanent status may be accomplished without further competition.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is a Title 32 federal technician excepted position that _requires membership in a compatible military assignment_ _ _ _ in the National Guard_ . _Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform_. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes _concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment_. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate military membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
This position is located in the Operations Flight of a Base Communications Squadron, Mission Support Group, in an Air National Guard Wing.

DEFINITION OF AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION:
Area 1 = permanent or indefinite technicians currently employed with the New Hampshire NationalGuard.
Area 2 = AGRs or traditional/M-Day soldiers and airmen currently serving in the New Hampshire NationalGuard.
Area 3 = all individuals eligible for membership in the New Hampshire National Guard as a military member. ( NOTE: Please call o ensure you are eligible to enlist in the NH Air National Guard as a military member BEFORE applying for this position)

The purpose of this position is to serve as a base systems administrator to monitor the Local and Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN), including the planning, analysis, acquisition, design, development, implementation, quality assurance, configuration, installation, integration,maintenance testing, operational integrity, and/or management of networked systems for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general managementprinciples that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may havebeen gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or otherpositions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.

SPECIALIZED
Experience: For GS-11 Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training that approaches techniques andrequirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization.Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination withothers outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations ofguidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studieswhere is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.
For GS-09 Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training in analysis of the interrelationship of pertinent components of the system. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment. Experience scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternatives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency
KSA's:
Knowledge of IT network systems design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in
developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services that
support functional requirements.
Knowledge of the organization's network architecture, topology, and protocols sufficient to
plan, design, develop, and integrate network systems and security plans and procedures
consistent with existing or planned network infrastructures.
Knowledge of methods, techniques, and processes for the integration and optimization of
LAN/WAN components, infrastructure requirements, and test and evaluation methods sufficient
to install and operate base wide programs and provide technical guidance to others in
designing, testing, operating, and maintaining network programs.
Knowledge of a wide variety of established commercial network design programs and how
they interrelate and function within various environments.
Skill in applying IT network development concepts and techniques to provide computer
applications which provide optimal functional support for users.
Ability to analyze functional IT network system requirements, translate findings into
functional requirements, develop supportable recommendations for enhancement, and apply a
wide range of methodologies and tools.
Ability to serve as a team leader or member of special projects and to coordinate and
document the work of the team.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how
management can meet future requirements. Ability to analyze, apply methods and practices for recovering, adjusting and modifying IT systems to solve complex problems while improving customer support practices that minimizes interruptions in service.
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience - At the GS-11 level, a Ph.D. or equivalent, or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : Member must possess and maintain CompTIA Security
certification IAWS DoDI 8570.10M.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement and must meet military grade requirements upon the closing of this announcement.
